REVIEW OF OPERATIONS
During the financial year ended 30 June 1999, the operating divisions were realigned to better reflect the nature of group activities. The group now comprises three focused divisions operating in the areas of wholesale, services, and food and beverages. One major and two smaller acquisitions were concluded during the year, while the process of integrating others was successfully completed.
The tight economic conditions during the first part of the financial year began easing in the last quarter. Interest rates declined, granting some relief to consumers. This had a positive impact on the markets served by the group.
